Abstract

In the world, most of the museums taken communities as a partner in their programmes and activities and this new approach created a favorable working condition between museums and communities. It fulfills the idea of museum by the people, of the people and for the people. There are several questions knock the thoughts of Museologists in which way they involve the community in museum practices like how should the museums and communities relate? What do museums and communities have to offer each other? When and how should the museums and communities work together? What should be put in place to ensure that relationship between museums and communities is healthy? The community involvement in museums means people who visit the museum, live and work in its locality or have donated the objects, any contribution to the museums like ideas, publicity, participation in different programmes etc. From the very beginning when we go through the history of museum movement it is seen that the people donate their lovely collection to different museums. It means not only today from the beginning the people or communities were involved with museum.
